Broadway Park Improvement Project

Broadway Park Map

As identified in the City’s Parks Master Plan, Broadway Park is next on the list for renovation. Located on both sides of Milton Avenue, Broadway Park offers a unique opportunity to enhance community recreation on a neighborhood scale.
The first community meeting was held on September 30, 2025 with residents from nearby households to provide input. An open survey is now available to all residents below:

Parnell Park Renovation & Improvement Project

Whittier City Council has approved the contract with Kasa Construction to deliver this $22.2 MILLION investment in one of our city’s most loved community spaces, and construction begins this September!

This project is funded through a mix of City resources, park impact fees, and outside support, including $5 million in state funding championed by Senator Bob Archuleta.

Significant community engagement (from surveys and community outreach, to a public meeting at Parnell Park) played a central role in shaping the project. And now we get to see it come to LIFE!

Coming soon to Parnell Park:

  • New soccer fields
  • Community bandshell for concerts and events
  • All-abilities playground so we can all play together
  • Splash pad for sunny Whittier days
  • Expanded & improved farm animal zoo
  • Modern restroom facility
  • Shaded picnic areas
  • Walking paths & improved security
  • EV parking stations
  • Upgraded landscaping, irrigation & sports-lighting

Estimated reopening: SPRING 2027

Anaconda Park Expansion

Anaconda Park AcquisitionAnaconda Park is an established neighborhood park. To further enhance recreational opportunities in the area, the City of Whittier has recently approved the purchase of an adjacent lot to expand the park.

This expansion will allow for possible additional amenities and more open space for the community to enjoy. Future design concepts will be guided by community feedback and the City’s Parks Master Plan.

Updates will be shared as planning and design efforts move forward.
